Triqstar, Gonzo, Junior New System & Alodia at Animax Carnival 2015

It is ANIMAX CARNIVAL time again here in Manila and the time of the year when cosplayers from all over the country troop to gather and showcase their love for this very colorful and creative passion!

I myself am excited to be seeing them all again upclose this May 30-31 weekend at MOA SMX. I simply admire how they spend time, money and a whole lot of effort to be dressing up to their favorite Japanese anime characters and bring them to life for the pleasure and enjoyment of more fans and die hard fanatics.

So the great people at Animax, Asia’s first channel specializing in Japanese animation, will be bringing its annual flagship event back to the Philippines! Viewers and fans will be treated to two days of fun-filled anime-themed activities at Animax Carnival Philippines 2015, to be held at Hall 4SMX Convention Center, Pasay City on 30 and 31 May 2015, 11am to 8pm.

Anime lovers can look forward to a bigger event this year with more exciting activities such as special performances by renowned cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao, the Animax Cosplay Competition,exciting activities and sale of exclusive anime merchandise and special guest performances from Japan.  Admission to the carnival comes at Php200.

The Cosplay Royalty

The Queen of Philippine Cosplay, Alodia Gosiengfiao will be performing onstage bringing some of her best costumes and pegs. Her passion for anime, video games and other creative media has led her to contribute to the rise of Cosplaying activities in Philippines so better watch out for her.

Animax Cosplay Competition

Animax Carnival Philippines 2015 will see the return of the acclaimed Animax Cosplay Competition for cosplay lovers!  Cosplayers can once again showcase their costume-making talents and emulation of their favorite anime characters with a range of realistic costumes and gravity-defying anime hairstyles to thrill visitors.  This year, the competition will feature two categories, a solo category on 30 May, and a group (no more than 5) category on 31 May, both happening at 2pm to 5pm.
Participants of both categories will stand a chance to win cash and exciting prizes and goodie bags, with attractive prizes worth over Php10, 000!

Exciting activities and anime merchandise

Fans will get to be submerged into the world of anime and the Japanese culture through this year’s carnival.

Attendees will be able to play traditional Japanese games and preview all of the anime posters and character artworks that have been featured on Animax. They can experience iconic Japan by learning how to write their names in Japanese and folding Origami for display. There will also be purchasable Japanese fashion pieces and Japanese food from a variety of designer booths and food stalls. Furthermore, fans will also be able to immerse themselves in products and gaming activities sponsored by Sony.

Event goers will also get to have a chance to win various merchandise and premiums from Animax such as drawstring bags, sticky notes, folders, fans and much more.

Special guests and appearances

Animax Carnival Philippines 2015 will also be celebrating Japanese culture with the performances of special guests.

We have  performers from Japan namely “Triqstar” , Asia’s Got Talent (AGT) finalist who is known for mixing traditional Japanese Kabuki elements with new-age dance and very entertaining, AGT semi-finalist Tambourine Master “Gonzo” will also be featured in the event.  A Jpop dance routine will also be staged by our very own group, Junior New System, AGT finalist.  Wow, ain’t that super cool?!

HONDA PH Encourages You To #LetYourBeatOut

Honda Philippines Incorporated lets the beat go rockin’ with its latest promo on Facebook, a fun video upload contest called “Let Your Beat Out”.

All that the promo involves is uploading personal video entries that state your life aspirations, particularly in the areas of Street Sports, Extreme Sports and Music. Just state your name and then showcase how you do your beat!

To choose the best video, 50% of the final score will be based on the number of likes and shares while the remaining 50% will focus on content creativity and uniqueness of presentation. Uploading of video entries will be from May 18 to May 28, 2015. Don’t forget to include the official hashtag #LetYourBeatOut when uploading your enrtries. Good luck!

7Flavors is the latest and newest exciting 3-in-1 food place and one stop dining venue when it comes to the world of gourmet cafe, artisan bakeshop and eat-all-you can world of fusion buffet treats! And if you are familiar with GMA-7’s resident food expert, Chef Boy Logro, he is one of the owners and is proud of this latest food venture.

Just recently fellow blogger Ms. Kathy Kenny extended an invite to check out this place and try out the sumptuous food 7Flavors has to offer. She gave us a heads up that the place has buffet. And
when it comes to buffets, it’s music to my ears! Yay!

Ms. Rina alongside with co-owner Mr. Karlo Aquino warmly welcomed us at their high-ceilinged cafe lounge where what struck us most is this huge and colorful Menu Board and a string
of handwritten options when it comes to drinks, pastries and pasta.

Inferno Milkshake for P80. Don’t be deceived by its “refreshing” look!

Their beverages is mainly composed of interesting and fascinating fruit and juice shakes, hot or cold coffee and their bestseller milkshakes! A lot to choose from, I got curious and ordered this
drink called Inferno Milkshake at P80. What makes this drink unique? It does not really look fiery red or so but the secret is in the “hot” taste via its… Well, I will let you find out for yourself!

Great to know from Mr. Aquino that they came up with a cool milkshake tribute to iconic Elvis “The King” Presley who is among my all-time favorite performer.

If you’re a Harry Potter fan on the other hand, you will love to sample their Butterbeer Milkshake. Worth the exciting taste!

Our group was personally escorted and ushered upstairs by Mr. Aquino himself and he pointed out that the interiors and ambiance of the buffet area is different from the looks of its ground floor
cafe area. And he was right after personally stepping foot on perhaps the most went-to place of the resto —– The World Fusion Buffet of 7Flavors!

Consisted of its main dining hall, the buffet area has also allotted a mini-private space for families or groups good for at least 15-20 pax who opts for a little privacy in enjoying all the food.

Being the buffet lover that I am, I loved all the food line up! But among my stand outs included the Asian BBQ Pork Ribs, Bagoong Rice, Korean Style Mafu Tofu, Chicken Drumstick Sticky Lemon Sauce plus the hot corn soup!

Since it was a Sunday close to lunch time when we visited the place, it was cool to have dined at 7Flavors with several families and groups of friends all trooping the buffet section! Jampacked!

Mr. Aquino also encouraged us to try out their Italian Soda version which looked very enticing complete with its cocktail sugar on the glass rim. So my fellow blogger-tablemates requested for the Blueberry, Passion Fruit, Strawberry and Kiwi flavors. You guys better try it out too for only P80.

After all the delish buffet dishes, tasty milkshakes, sweetest of desserts we’ve had, what I would guarantee as our 7Flavors highlight is the sampling of their in-house bestsellers, the 7Flavors Ensaymada and Cheesecake creations!

As described by their pastry chef, this lovely cheesecake has infused calamansi on a Coconut and Graham Crust topped with Ube and Langka mixture and fresh Durian frosted with Coffee Cream and dusted with Chocnut Crumble. Who would ever think that the King Durian of Davao will successfully blend with Langka and Ube and Chocnut? Amazing isn’t it? As I took a bite, durian immediately took over (as per the warning of Mr. Aquino, haha!) as the strongest taste but further on, the other sweet/bitter blend came rushing in making my first time 7Flavors Cheesecake (for only P120/pc) experience exquisitely memorable.

Another foodie favorite, the 7Flavors Ensaymada version is definitely another must-try folks! For only P50 a piece, you’re going to have these flavors— vanilla butter cream,
cheese, flan, ube, pandan, coconut and bacon all rolled into one! Wow, it is fascinating that bacon is present in this yummy bread as a topping. You will have a nice time trying to imagine and taste the other flavors. I also found the dough texture really “gummy-bear” like! So expect a very chewy and fun ensaymada treat only from 7Flavors. Kids and adults alike will surely love it!

Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour PH 2015 Tickled My Fancy…Again!

She came back and she re-conquered the hearts of many “kitty” fans here in the Philippines after her 2009 debut visit. What a grandiose and colorful and entertaining package Katy Perry always brings to her world tours and to the hearts of millions of supporters around the world. And last night, Manila was the center of her Prismatic world and how we shone so bright!
The Manila leg is extra memorable to Katy due to the fact it’s the 138th show in the list of 150 performances and at the same time exactly one year since the Prismatic World Tour was launched in Europe.  “Let’s go all the way, Manila!” she declared during the concert.
Katy’s shows just gets better and better aside from her classic popular hits. The magnitude of the sets and costumes and elaborate creative wardrobes is a testament that Katy is serious with her thing and she always aims to give her fans their time and money’s worth whenever she’s out on the road wherever they may be.
Katy was able to pack in more than 30,000 screaming fans here at the Philippine Arena and was considered the first ever solo artist to hold a major show. Congrats PA! Clap clap! We are once again in her concert book!
  The fans were treated to all the greatest hits from opening number “Roar”, “I Kissed a Girl”, “The One that Got Away”, “Dark Horse”, “Unconditionally”, “California Gurls”, “By the Grace of God”, “Vogue”, “Part of Me”, “Wide Awake”, and encore “Firework” among a setlist of 20 songs.
 A lucky fan named Marty, was super lucky he got pulled out by Katy in the middle of her show for some cute chat time like what Katy always does. She loves to interact with fans and make new friends. Marty was clad in the same costume as that of her “Vogue” number – a fish suit! And as expected, they both had a “selfie” moment onstage and rare Katy hugs to the envy of the crowd.

There was no dancing shark in this one and how we missed it, shucks! Maybe Katy did it on purpose. The sharks were perhaps only exclusive to her NFL performance. But dancing left shark or not, the Prismatic World Tour is a surefire box office hit for Katy and her travelling production team of at least 128 hardworking and dedicated peeps!

Thank you Katy for coming back and we hope and pray for more success, hit songs and another world tour in the works very soon! You are such an inspiration to the millions of “Katy Cats” here and your songs will always warm our hearts and tickle our fancies.
