ATAT Motorcycle Club: Stronger and Bolder @12!

This September 26-28, 2014 weekend , ATAT Motorcycle Club (ATAT, as formally registered in the SEC, stands for Any Time All the Time) will have its 1st official long ride for 2014 to Baguio as it commemorates the new set of officers for the year 2014-2015 with President Charlie Carlos Ride.

I had the cool chance of meeting this exciting motorcycle club a few months ago in one of FILA’s events at The Fort Strip. I immediately got impressed hearing their “ride stories” upfront to the point it sounds unbelievably true! These boys rule the road everytime their on their power bikes and they love it that way riding together near or far.
To those who do not know the club yet, ATAT was founded on friendship in 2002 when three long-time friends Kiko Bernardo, Teddy Lim and Elton Ong decided to get together after realizing their passion for motorbikes. From there, the group of three started to grow and had many impromptu rides —at any given time, at a moment’s notice, with a “drop what you are doing and let’s ride!” kind of attitude. Together with another long time friend Alberto Matias the group decided to name the group ATAT — which, in the vernacular, describes someone all too eager and impatient to do something.

Together with Benjie Ladra, Myke Torres, Kevin Chua, and Jimmy Chan pioneers in ATAT, the group started to grow in numbers. Reaching a high of 45 members at its peak. Now on to its 12th year, ATAT Motorcycle Club has established itself as one of the premier motorcycle clubs in the country. At present, the club has 24 members and despite their busy schedules, their friendship has evolved into a deep sense of camaraderie and a brotherhood of passionate riders.

Would you believe that membership to this prestigious group is By Invitation only? So if one gets invited, that rider deserves it! ATAT’s curent members are: Elton Ong, Benjie Ladra, Abet Matias, Marc de Joya, Charlie Carlos, Raymond Hallare, Vince Mercado, Felix Luakian, Mervin Pullon,Francis Varela, Paolo Vialu, Rei Lagamia, Mayie Capinpin , Oliver Jimeno, JC Villanueva, AJ Maralit, Aaron Macalinao, Jevis Aguila Marketing Manager at Granstar Motors, the local distributor of Aprilia and Lawrence Macalinao.

According to ATAT Lawrence, the guys ride Ducati Panigale’s, Aprilia RSV4 — two high end italian bike brands.

“We have been riding for a long time, and unlike other sport-bike riders, ATAT members really push and ride hard. We have made it our advocacy to ride hard on the track, not on the streets, to promote safe riding,” said Marc de Joya, General Manager at Ducati Phils.

Hello iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus

Tom Cook of Apple US and his team just recently launched the much-awaited new iPhone lines this Sept. 9th in California.

Apple says pricing (in US Dollars) for iPhone 6 Plus starts at 299 for 16GB, 399 for 64, 499 for 128GB. While the new 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will start at $199.

I am not an iPhone user (as of yet) and I can just imagine the cringe some of my friends feel especially to those who just bought either an iPhone 5 or iPhone 5 Plus. Some are not even done yet paying their latest iPhone’s on installment plans. Now the whole world just welcomed a couple more plus a very smart iWatch!

Lucky for my relatives and friends in the States, both new iPhone models will go on launch on Friday, September 19th, and pre-order availability will begin this Friday, September 12th.
