Golden Ticket Holds Sold Out Screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens

starwarspanelGolden Ticket Events has just awoken the force within every Star Wars fan with the exclusive screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, held one day ahead of its December 17 release in the Philippines. The screening was held at SM Megamall Cinema 3 to a sold-out crowd.

And thankfully I was there to witness and watch a childhood film sci-fi favorite, thanks to our community website, Astig.Ph in which yours truly is an avid contributor.

Despite the popularity of the movie, the reception was still unexpected. “The screening was held in the middle of pre-holiday festivities,” said Kendrick Go, Marketing Director of Golden Ticket Events. “In spite of their busy schedules, inclement weather, and holiday traffic, our patrons were still able to make time for the screening. It gives me great pleasure that Golden Ticket Events is able to continuously provide a memorable movie theatre experience in the Philippines.” Congratulations! _DSC8804

In celebration of the movie’s exclusive Philippine premiere, Golden Ticket Events amped the ante and treated patrons to free popcorn, bottled water, and 1,000 PHP worth of goodies and gift certificates. Even the movie ticket itself, The Golden Ticket, can be used to claim free skin care services from Forever Beautiful, a facial and slimming spa located in SM Megamall.
_DSC8838Right before the actual screening, there was a raffle held alongside with special gift certificate prizes to a couple of patrons who donned their The Force Awakens choice characters in full costume with props. A fun moment occurred when the host requested for a volunteer who could act out a scene with him specifically the Darth Vader-Luke Skywalker “I Am Your Father” scene.  That volunteer kid was so in character!

Released more than ten years after the film series’ last instalment (Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith), Star Wars: The Force Awakens is slated to be the much awaited movie of the decade. With J. J. Abrams–the man who helped reinvigorate the Star Trek franchise–at the helm alongside fan favorites Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill and of course the beloved C3PO, R2D2 and Chewy aka Chewbacca, the movie is expected to break box office records and earn $1 billion in profits globally.
Star-Wars-The-Force-Awakens-Han-Solo-ChewbaccaThe seventh installment of George Lucas’ epic space opera, Star Wars: The Force Awakens follows Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker after the events in Return of the Jedi, where the Rebel Alliance remains in conflict with the the Galactic Empire. The entrance in their respective scenes were met with gushes and applause from the audience with much nostalgia how long we missed them on the big screen.

New generation characters were also introduced in this episode featuring the exciting roles of actors Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver as Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron and evil one Kylo Ren. I had loaded fun liking adorable globular droid BB-8 and wished I have a cute replica of him. In fairness, actress Ridley is a cross resemblance betweeb Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman in some scenes and was very fierce like Jennifer Lawrence in the Hunger Games. Looking forward to be seeing some of them in Episodes 8 and 9 within the next four years. Yay! More episodes in the works!

star-wars-the-force-awakensI’ve been shared “nice” spoilers by some friends prior to watching this film and I did not mind at all. I would see those cool scenes anyway. What also touched me great was the final scene when Rey finally got to see Luke Skywalker on top of a breathtaking cliff overlooking the vast blue ocean returning his personal light saber in anticipation for a follow up very soon! Grateful and thankful with sheer pleasure sharing this awesome episode with fellow SW fans and blogger friends! A night to remember! Many thanks Golden Ticket, Astig.Ph and the rest of the sponsors. Until the next flick?!

And so the saga continues…
