A P24 Treat from Cowboy Grill @24

When someone mentions Cowboy Grill place or restaurant, it is immediately associated with great “pulutan” or meaty eats over drinks of beer or a variety of cocktail drinks plus awesome LIVE band music situated in the heart of Manila.

If yours truly has an event or show at the CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines) or within the area, we would continue the after show party and get together at Cowboy Grill for those reasons mentioned earlier. ☺

And  did you know that dear Cowboy Grill is celebrating their 24th anniversary this year? Time really fliest super fast the restaurant is a year shy from celebrating its silver year.

Just recently, we received a personal invitation to grace the recently-held blogger’s conference to announce one of Cowboys Grill’s several promos lined up.

The first Cowboy Grill started when Shakey’s decided to shift to a family-oriented restaurant from a food outlet with live entertainment. To retain the live band concept, the owners decided to establish Cowboy Grill, right next to Shakey’s.

Cowboy Grill celebrates it’s 24 years in the business of giving the people a happy place to eat and drink. Having a great place with great entertainment, delicious and reasonably priced dishes, attentive and friendly staff as well as keeping up with the latest trends are their strong foundations that keeps them going for all these years.

“For the past 24 years, we remain steadfast in providing our valued guests with high quality entertainment and premium products that are reasonably priced and served promptly by our friendly employees. We are so thankful to our loyal guests who have continued to support and patronize us. We are celebrating a milestone with a renewed passion and a vision for the future,” said Mr. Solomon Caasi, Jr., Cowboy Grill’s chief operating officer.“For the past 24 years, we remain steadfast in providing our valued guests with high quality entertainment and premium products that are reasonably priced and served promptly by our friendly employees. We are so thankful to our loyal guests who have continued to support and patronize us. We are celebrating a milestone with a renewed passion and a vision for the future,” said Mr. Solomon Caasi, Jr., Cowboy Grill’s chief operating officer.

“We are planning to adapt a family-oriented restaurant concept, while retaining the live band concept. We want to create a good balance between the two concept. The live bands remains our biggest draw, our biggest competitive edge. But we also want to welcome other market segment which we have yet to tap,” he continued.

“We are planning to adapt a family-oriented restaurant concept, while retaining the live band concept. We want to create a good balance between the two concept. The live bands remains our biggest draw, our biggest competitive edge. But we also want to welcome other market segment which we have yet to tap,” he continued.

Established by its founding chairman Leopoldo L. Prieto, who brought the first Shakey’s Pizza restaurant in the Philippines, the first Cowboy Grill started when Shakey’s decided to shift to a family-oriented restaurant from a food outlet with live entertainment. To retain the live band concept, the owners decided to establish Cowboy Grill, right next to Shakey’s.

Through the years, Cowboy Grill has evolved and became the best place where the party starts, with live bands, great food and unique experience.

To this day, its guests enjoy freshly prepared items such as its famous Sisig dishes, Crispy Pata, Buffalo Wings, and Nachos. Though they still serve their bestsellers, Cowboy Grill has adapted with the times and now served pasta and chicken meals, as well as pizza choices such as Cowboy Especiale, Nachos Pizza, All-Meat Pizza, Seafood Pizza, Sisig Supreme and Manila Pizza, to cater to much wider taste preferences of its customers.

This year, Cowboy Grill is gearing towards introducing its daytime operation. For the past years, Cowboy Grill operates from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m., opening its doors to dinner and party crowd. The company plans to shift to a more family-oriented concept, tapping the lunch crowd.

As part of the ongoing improvements, Cowboy Grill will experiment with a more contemporary design which will influence the look of the brand as a whole.

“Right now, our interiors has that bar look – with black chairs and tabletops, dimly lit interiors, strobe lights, among others. In the next months, we will undergo some renovations to balance the look – it needs to have that cozy, comfortable ambiance of a family restaurant, yet it has to still be edgy and contemporary that suits the party vibe,” according to Mr. Erickson Caper, marketing manager.

Aside from this expansion, Cowboy Grill kick started the change with the introduction of the Hot & Ready take-out counter. Starting 9 a.m., the take-out counter opens its patrons to enjoy Cowboy Grill bestsellers on its off-hours. The company has also introduced its catering services, as well as delivery functions.

“We are a one-stop shop for your dining needs. People think that Cowboy Grill is just a bar, no kids allowed. We want to change that perception. This year, we are working on re-introducing Cowboy Grill as a restaurant and bar. We are shifting from entertainment to family-oriented dining concept, extending our operation hours from 6p.m. to 5a.m. to 10a.m. to 5a..m., Mr. Caasi continued. “Aside from the main dining and live bands, we will focus on catering and function services, as well as delivery and takeout.”

Its loyal customers who always come to Cowboy Grill because of its live bands need not worry. The restaurant will retain the live band aspect of the business. Today, Cowboy Grill has a roster of approximately 30 bands performing different music genres. The bands have already gained their strong following among the customers.

“Cowboy Grill has always been synonymous with live bands. We will keep that concept. We are still looking at how to integrate the two concepts. Who knows we might even introduce acoustic performances with slow, chill music during the daytime, while they’ll be a full-set up for live bands at night. This year’s expansions and changes are just the turning points, leading to our 25th anniversary next year.”

Through the years, Cowboy Grill manages to maintain its growing business, anchored on good food, good service and quality entertainment and they shall continue to do so for many years to come.

Congratulations and many more power and business years be unto you to our friends at Cowboy Grill!

The Uniqueness of 5 Loaves & 2 Fish Restaurant

Discovering a new restaurant is always a fun adventure! ☺☺
Just recently, yours truly alongside other food and lifestyle bloggers got an exclusive invite to check out 5 Loaves & 2 Fish restaurant located at The Rock, mini mall, in Don Antonio Heights, Quezon City.
Upon entering the premises, you could immediately feel the homey vibe aside of course from the delicious food and desserts this resto has in store. With a high ceiling set up, the place looks and feels cozy and it makes you want to stay and linger longer while enjoying their sumptuous menu with family or friends.
My associates could not help but adore the meal samples displayed at the presentation table. The owner of 5 Loaves & 2 Fish, Ms. Dinah Miro, wanted to share their best sellers as well as personal favorites to us all. Like most of restaurant owners, her family’s passion is good food not only for the body but also for the soul. This also explains the biblical verses around the resto and into their wall design. These have fully inspired Ms. Dinah and her family to put up 5L2F.

On hand also was Chef Jay Sycip who aside from taking care of the valuable menu, is also responsible for the store’s operations. And yes he is related to the legendary and iconic and famous founder of SGV accounting firm, Mr. Washington Sycip through his dad. Way to go, chef!

So here’s a quick run down of what’s best selling at 5L2F

Balayan Salad –  green lettuce, chopped fresh tomatoes with quesong puti cheese and tinapa flakes and grated parmesan cheese.
Spaghetti With Chicken Parmesan is one of my personal favorites. Just the right taste!                                  Photo Credit: Rence Chan
High 5 Salad – flavorful balsamic vinegar and guava puree blend of pleasant and unique taste. with sundried tomatoes , candied nuts , diced guava , grated parmesan cheese. Will really make you want to High 5 your seatmate or food buddy!
Pork Ribs BBQ — special marinated sauce with 4 to 6 hours to cook the pork , making the meat is tender and tasty. Must taste!

Miss Dinah surprised us by raffling off a few of their bestseller whole cakes and yours truly was among those lucky winners! I won a Matcha Green cake which I was excited to bring home to family, YEHEY!!! And from the looks of it, the cake was yummy-looking and I was impressed how it was designed highlighting the matcha feel. The smell of matcha was likewise so prevalent and it enticed my appetite for a quick bite.
According to Chef Jay, the cake has no preservatives so it is advisable to consume it all right away. Whoaaa!
Many thanks Ms. Dinah!

The price range for the cake slice is between Php 145 to Php 180 per slice. They are not overly sweet compared to some well-known bakeshop. Among their best sellers are the cheesecake, chocolate cakes, pink guava cakes, matcha green tea cheesecake , dulce de leche.
Here we were as one big happy family! Media bloggers with the owner and admin of 5 Loaves 2 Fish. Thank you so much for having all of us! Until our next visit! ☺☺

Cool Tips for a Long Weekend

Don’t you just love long weekends? This is so applicable to working professionals and students alike!

This June 26 is Eid’l Fitr, in the calendar this year, it means another long weekend may be coming up. While we wait for the official announcement, everyone’s now scrambling to snag those promo fares or bus tickets to take advantage of this free Monday. We’re not all that lucky though, so if you won’t be able to whip up a quick vacation, here are a few things that will keep you entertained without leaving the city. Some of them are even free!
The best thing about a long weekend in the city is there are way less people crowding the streets and restaurants. Here’s your chance to head to some of those sought-after restaurants you can’t seem to get a free table in. Grab a seat at the 20-seater Mendokoro Ramenba at Salcedo Village in Makati, the tiny but super popular La Chinesca at BF Homes in Paranaque, or the full-to-the-brim Locavore in BGC or Kapitolyo.
Looking for someone who knows how to have fun? Turn to the little ones, whether you have your own kids, your young relatives, or your mommy-friend’s tots. There are so many things to do around Manila during the long weekend, but bringing the kids along will give it that extra energy and humor. Take a kalesa tour around the beautiful Intramuros, visit the many museums around the city and the newly-opened Planetarium in Manila, or let their (and your) energy loose at the many activities at SM by the Bay, Kidzania, or Dreamplay.
If you’ve been trying to live a healthier lifestyle which is a must, perhaps a visit to BPI-Philam’s Win the Moment Wellness Festival will help you jumpstart this change. Head to Trinoma Activity Center on June 24 and participate in interactive booths that let you experience total wellness – not just physical but also social, emotional, mental and financial. From dance classes by G-Force, life-sized board games, and inspirational talks that help you pursue passion without losing all your live savings, the Win the Moment Wellness Festival brings a unique experience to all Filipinos.

Top it off with a mini concert by KZ Tandingan and Quest, and you’ve crossed out one full day! Just download the Philam Vitality Active App from the Apple Store or Google Play and use the promocode bplacwtm to gain free entrance.

I hope you were all able to take note of these. Share me later what happend?

So enjoy your looooong weekend before the end of this month! Cheers! ☻☻☻

Say Hi & Hello to… 7Flavors! Your 3-in-1 Food Place

Hear ye! Hear ye!
There’s a new restaurant go-to on the block in the San Juan area. Only more than a week old, 7Flavors restaurant will surely tickle your fancy and get you curious what in the world are these seven flavors in the yummy world of eats?!

196 A. Mabini St. Brgy.Addition Hills
San Juan, Metro Manila
Contact number: 543-0325

Hi there, Chef Boy Logro! ☺

7Flavors is the latest and newest exciting 3-in-1 food place and one stop dining venue when it comes to the world of gourmet cafe, artisan bakeshop and eat-all-you can world of fusion buffet treats! And if you are familiar with GMA-7’s resident food expert, Chef Boy Logro, he is one of the owners and is proud of this latest food venture.

P1210357P1210358Just recently fellow blogger Ms. Kathy Kenny extended an invite to check out this place and try out the sumptuous food 7Flavors has to offer. She gave us a heads up that the place has buffet. And
when it comes to buffets, it’s music to my ears! Yay!

Ms. Rina alongside with co-owner Mr. Karlo Aquino warmly welcomed us at their high-ceilinged cafe lounge where what struck us most is this huge and colorful Menu Board and a string
of handwritten options when it comes to drinks, pastries and pasta.

Inferno Milkshake for P80. Don’t be deceived by its “refreshing” look!

Their beverages is mainly composed of interesting and fascinating fruit and juice shakes, hot or cold coffee and their bestseller milkshakes! A lot to choose from, I got curious and ordered this
drink called Inferno Milkshake at P80. What makes this drink unique? It does not really look fiery red or so but the secret is in the “hot” taste via its… Well, I will let you find out for yourself!

Dreamy Milkshakes Galore!

Even the milkshake names are unique and catchy. My fellow bloggers ordered these refreshers:

Bubblegum Dreams @P120.00
Butterbeer Milkshake @P155.00
Smores Milkshake @P140.00
Mango-Banana Smoothie @P110.00
Elvis Shake – @180.00

Great to know from Mr. Aquino that they came up with a cool milkshake tribute to iconic Elvis “The King” Presley who is among my all-time favorite performer.

If you’re a Harry Potter fan on the other hand, you will love to sample their Butterbeer Milkshake. Worth the exciting taste!

Our group was personally escorted and ushered upstairs by Mr. Aquino himself and he pointed out that the interiors and ambiance of the buffet area is different from the looks of its ground floor
cafe area. And he was right after personally stepping foot on perhaps the most went-to place of the resto —– The World Fusion Buffet of 7Flavors!

Consisted of its main dining hall, the buffet area has also allotted a mini-private space for families or groups good for at least 15-20 pax who opts for a little privacy in enjoying all the food.

Vegetable Salad

Pork Bagnet with Fermented Shrimp

Garlic Green Beans

Buttered Chicken

Pumpkin Fritata

Fried Potato with Cheese and Bacon

Chicken Drumstick Sticky Lemon Sauce

Malaysian Beef Randang – One of my fave!

Korean Style Mafu Tofu

The Menu List on the day of our food-tasting visit:
Vegetable Salad
Seasonal Fruits
Hot Soup
Steamed Rice
Bagoong Rice
Garlic Green Beans
Pork Bagnet with Fermented Shrimp
Buttered Chicken
Pumpkin Fritata
Fried Potato with Cheese and Bacon
Chicken Drumstick Sticky Lemon Sauce
Buttered Vegetables
Malaysian Beef Randang
Norwegian Meat Balls
Korean Style Mafu Tofu
Beef Bourguignon
Fried Fish with Tropical Fruits Salsa
Eggplant Parmigiana
Asian BBQ Pork Ribs
Shrimp Coconut Tempura
Chicken Wings Butter Spicy Sauce
Waffle-maker sandwich

Being the buffet lover that I am, I loved all the food line up! But among my stand outs included the Asian BBQ Pork Ribs, Bagoong Rice, Korean Style Mafu Tofu, Chicken Drumstick Sticky Lemon Sauce plus the hot corn soup!

Since it was a Sunday close to lunch time when we visited the place, it was cool to have dined at 7Flavors with several families and groups of friends all trooping the buffet section! Jampacked!

Strawberry Cup Chef

Mango Bar

Lime and Tea Shots

Dessert Bar:
German Chocolate Bar, Mango Bar, Apple Caramel Cramble Shot, Lime and Tea Shot, Strawberry Cup Chef.  —– I’ve got the sweet tooth so all the desserts are thumbs up especially the Lime Shot!

Mr. Aquino also encouraged us to try out their Italian Soda version which looked very enticing complete with its cocktail sugar on the glass rim. So my fellow blogger-tablemates requested for the Blueberry, Passion Fruit, Strawberry and Kiwi flavors. You guys better try it out too for only P80.
After all the delish buffet dishes, tasty milkshakes, sweetest of desserts we’ve had, what I would guarantee as our 7Flavors highlight is the sampling of their in-house bestsellers, the 7Flavors Ensaymada and Cheesecake creations!

As described by their pastry chef, this lovely cheesecake has infused calamansi on a Coconut and Graham Crust topped with Ube and Langka mixture and fresh Durian frosted with Coffee Cream and dusted with Chocnut Crumble. Who would ever think that the King Durian of Davao will successfully blend with Langka and Ube and Chocnut? Amazing isn’t it? As I took a bite, durian immediately took over (as per the warning of Mr. Aquino, haha!) as the strongest taste but further on, the other sweet/bitter blend came rushing in making my first time 7Flavors Cheesecake (for only P120/pc) experience exquisitely memorable.
Another foodie favorite, the 7Flavors Ensaymada version is definitely another must-try folks! For only P50 a piece, you’re going to have these flavors— vanilla butter cream,
cheese, flan, ube, pandan, coconut and bacon all rolled into one! Wow, it is fascinating that bacon is present in this yummy bread as a topping. You will have a nice time trying to imagine and taste the other flavors. I also found the dough texture really “gummy-bear” like! So expect a very chewy and fun ensaymada treat only from 7Flavors. Kids and adults alike will surely love it!
P1210260Curious on their buffet rates?
Mon-Thurs (Lunch) @P399.95
Mon-Thurs (Dinner) @P499.95
Fri-Sun (Lunch/Dinner) @P599.95
P1210353I suggest that you take advantage of their soft opening promo of 20% discount until June 14, 2015. Better yet, have your Father’s Day celebration in advance and other special occasions here. Definitely worth the trip and taste of course!
Do keep these schedules handy for your 7Flavors visit:
7Flavors Artisan Bakery: 7AM-8PM Daily
7Flavors Gourmet Cafe: 8AM-11PM Daily
7Flavors World Fusion Buffet: 11AM-2PM (Lunch)
6-10PM (Dinner)
P1210360Wacky moment with owners Mr. Karlo Aquino and Chef Boy Logro…Super fun! I gained a few pounds, haha! See you again soon!

To answer the hanging question I posted earlier, here are your SEVEN popular flavors:
7flavahI would definitely come back to 7Flavors and try out their other yummy foodie line up especially in the Cafe Gourmet. Pasta pasta…wait for me! Would love to bring in my family and recommend this awesome restaurant to my friends and food-loving soulmates! The staff are polite, courteous and warm. Keep it up!

Many thanks to Ms. Kathy Kenny for the invite and Mr. Karlo Aquino for all the info and exciting “kuwento’s” you shared with us. Thank you as well to Ms. Roselyn and Kuya Ricky for the food assist. 7Flavors is definitely the newest and latest food place to be in the heart of historic San Juan!

Do visit and LIKE their Facebook page for more info and promo updates. Thanks guys!

Royal Caribbean Patties

royalA blogger associate of mine sent a general invite to our community FB pages a couple of weeks ago to come and do a food tasting review of a patties restaurant…with that phrase mentioned….only one place popped into my head! Told myself could it be a food tasting for…Royal Caribbean Patties place? That resto name has stuck with my memory bank for like three years now all thanks to my dear runner friends Omar and Lems, both from Laguna. There is a branch there in Nuvali beside Convergys building.

So just last week, blogger assoc Reij sent me personal message that I got included to a blogger’s shortlist (thanks a lot Reij!) who are invited to do a food tasting session to…none other than…Royal Caribbean Patties place…the finest Jamaican patties! Yes! I was correct after all! The invite includes a plus one guest and both of us can try ANY food selection in the menu for review. We were also cautioned not to order too many that we cannot finish. That is fine so food won’t be wasted as well.

I am therefore inviting my sistah Micmic to come food taste with me at RC this coming week. She has heard of the place and is as excited as myself to try out what’s new on their menu and sample their consumer bestsellers. I’m expecting lotsa spice! Then my food review follows here.

So Royal Caribbean Market Market watch out for us, hehe!

Very inviting to the taste! I will taste you again soon…

Food Tourrific – BGC EATS 2014

I do not only consider Bonifacio Global City or BGC  as a cool running events venue but it has slowly turned itself also into a gastronomic Food Hub!
